Dr. Donovan Kotze visited our restoration team early this month to assist with conducting baseline assessments at one of the sites in and around the Broomvlei Wetland. With the significant rainfall we’ve received in the past month, navigating the wetland was challenging, though the palmiet provided some stable footing for the team.
This site was initially cleared in 2019 and has undergone two follow-up clearings since then. It’s impressive to see progress in the area from visual observations, which we hope will also be reflected in the data the team has collected. We’re grateful for the expertise and experience guiding informed decisions in our restoration work and look forward to continuing these efforts.
