The Jobs4Carbon (J4C) project management team has embarked on a ‘learning process’ to help us better understand the carbon economy space, and from there to better assess opportunities for a growing J4C programme. A Table Mountain Fund grant is supporting this effort.
The first step has been an information gathering process which involved desk research and lots of interviews with experts in the field. This work was undertaken by Cosman Bolus, who is a member of the J4C team and associate of the Rhodes Restoration Research Group (RRRG).
Currently we are in the process of organising a workshop for landowners and other interested parties that will combine key lessons from this report with developing ideas on creating a mechanism through which carbon sales can be managed collectively. Watch that space!
