We are seeking a detail-orientated Finance and Administration Manager to lead the organisation’s financial operations by applying sound financial management principles and practices that will support strategic decision-making and safeguard the GCBR’s stability.
JOB DETAILS
Job title: Finance and Administration Manager
Employment type: Full-time
Duration: 2-year fixed term contract, effective 1 June 2026
Remuneration: R40 000.00 salary package per month
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
Location: Riversdale, Western Cape
Purpose of position: To manage the GCBR’s financial and office administration functions, ensuring sound financial control, compliance and overall operational efficiency
Qualification(s): BCom degree in financial accounting/financial management, or a related qualification
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience managing project finances, preferably in the non-profit sector.
- Skilled proficiency in financial software and tools such as Pastel Accounting, Sage and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong knowledge of financial principles, regulations and reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Financial management and control
- Maintain robust financial and administrative systems that meet donor and statutory requirements, and support unqualified external audit outcomes.
- Manage payroll administration, including salary processing and statutory deductions (e.g. PAYE, UIF and COIDA).
- Manage all supplier and service provider payments.
- Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets and update budget tracking tools in collaboration with project managers.
Financial reporting and compliance
- Prepare and submit monthly/quarterly/annual financial reports and project statements to the Chief Executive Officer and project managers.
- Analyse financial performance and highlight variances, risks and trends.
- Support budgeting and financial planning processes.
Office administration and operations management
- Develop and maintain effective office management systems, administrative procedures and record-keeping processes.
- Supervise and coordinate administrative support staff to ensure effective delivery of office operations.
- Manage insurance, company registration, assets and all mandatory compliance matters.
Board secretariat support
- Serve as Board Secretary and act as the primary coordination point for all Board administration.
- Prepare and distribute Board packs, agendas and supporting documentation within agreed timelines.
- Maintain official Board records, registers and governance documentation in accordance with organisational and legal requirements.
