A venue beyond the ordinary
Sue Davidoff and Allan Kaplan – founders, stewards and guardians of Towerland Wilderness – are opening this unique and beautiful wilderness home as an intimate venue for small gatherings and events. Whilst usually we able to accommodate up to 20 people, due to current Covid restrictions we are welcoming groups of between 6 and 12 people, with both catered and self-catering options available.
Never has it felt so essential – urgent even – that we find ways to reconnect with what is good, and true, and whole, both in ourselves and the world around us. How essential, too, that we create space for free and living thinking.
Towerland Wilderness is a rare place. Surrounded by mountains, riverine valleys, exultant fynbos and abundant wildlife, it offers a space to reconnect with yourself – a place where you can walk far, swim in crystal clear rivers, watch the stars, sink deep into silence, let your thoughts unfurl in freedom, enjoy rigorous conversation and much laughter, and be nourished by great food – truly a space where reconnection with our inner well-being is supported on every level.
The simple yet beautiful and comfortable accommodation consists of 16 units built from natural materials of clay, straw and wood, all situated at the top of a hill amongst pristine fynbos, giving a beautiful perspective of the surrounding area. Thoughtful attention to every detail and comfort, together with the profuse presence of nature enhance the overall intention of Towerland: to experience oneself and nature in an ongoing interdependent dance.
Located in the Western Cape region of South Africa, approximately five hours by car from Cape Town and only one hour from George airport in the famed Garden Route area, Towerland is regarded by those who know it as ‘one of the world’s hidden treasures’.
